Link URL method takes order (in test mode) but does not trigger Check Out Result

I’d prefer to use link URL as a way to trigger the pop up payment screen. (I’m still in test mode).

It appears a payment is being made (green circle with tick) and the results are recorded in the Order tab of the plugin. However the Check out result page is not triggered and neither is the seller email sent. Instead I end up with a revolving white/blue revolving ring which looks like it is stuck trying to trigger something.

The reverse is true when I use the shortcode option – everything works as expected.

HOw can I troubleshoot this?

I tested that feature and it is working fine as of now. Does the debug log show any error with the transaction?

Also, do the following test to make sure something else is not conflicting:
