Create a free product

Hi! How do I create a free product? I downloaded the subscription plugin to try it that way, but I doesn’t allow me to Publish a subscription plan when the price is 0. I also tried creating a product priced at $0, but on the published page of my site, it prompts customers to enter a price of their own. Please help, thanks!

Do you mean that you want to charge nothing on the day of the transaction and then charge a recurring amount after X number of days?

or Do you mean that the product is FREE altogether (no charge for it what so ever)? Is it a digital product?

If it is just a free digital download that you want to offer to your visitors, maybe you want to use the following download monitor plugin which allows you to offer digital downloads for free and also track the downloads:

Thank you – the second option. It is a digital product. Will the simple download plugin allow me to also collect emails in Mailchimp and can I have those download products listed on the same page as my paid products? Are you saying I can’t offer a free download through the Stripe Payment plugin?

Stripe payment gateway doesn’t allow you to do any normal transaction that is less than a $1.

So if you want to offer free downloads, then using a download monitoring type plugin can be helpful. The simple download monitor has the following addon that lets you offer the download in exchange of the email that gets added to your mailchimp list:

In the future, we will look at adding an option that can maybe bypass the stripe checkout if you want to sell a product for free.

Hi! I have now downloaded the Stripe Subscriptions and the Free Download plugin, but neither have been able to do what I’d like. I would like to have the option to sell paid products AND free products, and I would like to be able to capture the emails of those who download the free products. I set up everything and was unable to do so. Can I please receive a refund for those two purchases? And is there anyway Stripe Payments allows for free products?
