Here is the point I’m a US Store, but I sell mainly to Brazil
I’ve paid for the multi-currency plugin.
My products have a price in USD
My buyers are in Brazil so I need the default to be BRL
All I want is to show always the price on BRL by default
Is that a way I can edit any of the PHPs or pages to set the currency to BRL always by default?
Hi.
This is not possible at the moment.
However, you have provided a good use-case scenario, so we’re going to implement this functionality in the multi-currency add-on.
The way I see it: there should be a new option in the add-on settings, called “Default Currency”. Using this option, you’ll be able to specify which currency everything should be converted to by default. In your case, that would be BRL.
Why not set your store’s currency to BRL and price the products in that currency? Then some people can convert it to other currency like the USD (if they want to).
If you are going to convert the currency to BRL on page load and show prices in that currency, then that should be the default currency and price setup for your store. Then add the multi-currency to offer the conversion option for some people.
Thanks Admin!
Well…. that is a nightmare when you are a US Based business selling into another currency. Dollar rates change daily, that is the only reason I’ve purchased the currency converter.
My customers are mostly based on brazil so showing currency in USD and asking then to push a button to convert are really not productive.
an option in my mind is to hard code somewhere on my product pages the action that the Apply button does to convert to that currency so everytime all those pages load the plugin would run.
I thought someone on the forum had done it on the past but looks like not, so I would need to invest time to figure it out. thank you.
